School Happenings:

 

Kindergarten screening was a huge success today.  It looks like the eighth grade class of 2017 will have sixteen (16) graduates!

 

Dummerston School welcomed two new students last week, a boy in second grade and a girl in fourth grade.

 

Dummerston School received a check for $426.00 dollars from the Hannaford Helps Schools fundraising campaign.  Thank you to all the parents and community members who participated in this year’s program.

 

Girls on the Run has 20 girls from grades 3-5 participating this year.  Hannah Parker, our school counselor on maternity leave is coaching the girls again this year.  You can HEAR them any Monday and Wednesday afternoon running in the hallways and hopefully, outside in the near future.  The Girls on the Run curriculum address all aspects of girls' development - their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being.

 

Bowling for Kids Sake is scheduled for Saturday, April 5^th at the Brattleboro Bowl.  The Dummerston Bowling Team is scheduled to bowl at 10:00 a.m.  We still have openings available if you are interested in joining our team. 

 

The VT Department of Health inspected the Food Service Program today.  The program received a score of 94 out of 100.  We also received notice last week that the state will be doing a Child Nutrition Program Review at Dummerston School on April 4, 2008.  The review will evaluate compliance with the regulatory provisions of school lunch programs and include quality measurements as well as an improvement plan.  What fun!
