We are off to a busy start and have completed our first unit about honeybees with a focus on science and writing. Students made bee-autiful posters and we visited Yankee Candle to learn more about beeswax candles. They shared their posters with kindergarten partners and celebrated with honey snacks. We celebrated Johnny Appleseed's birthday with a taste testing activity. Honeycrisp apples were a strong winner in the Favorite category. The class did a wonderful job on the NECAP test and worked diligently on both reading and math assessments. Maybe it was the Smartie candies that inspired them!
